Indonesia's Rich Cup 'O Coffee
Indonesia is known to be home of the most expensive coffee in the world, Kopi Luwak. The price for a small cup is about $50 while a pound of the coffee is around $300 to $500. Why is this coffee so expensive? Well firstly it has a rich taste and unique aroma. Secondly, it is very hard to get the coffee because the supply is limited. Finally, the coffee is very popular and the demand is high. But how is this coffee made? A wild asian palm Civet climbs up coffee trees and eats up some of the finest coffee beans. Then the beans are digested and thrown out as its feces. Farmers and workers search for the droppings and bring it to processing plants. From there it is thoroughly cleansed and mixed in hot water. Then you'll find it in your cup of coffee. Is that fact disturbing? Well your opinion rules from there. Kopi Luwak is popular in America and Japan but is obviously sold locally in South-East Asia. In South-East Asia Kopi Luwak is sold for $8, better buy it locally.
